The opening hours will be determined by the Library Committee and will vary with the demand for library use and staff availability.
Current changes will be displayed at the entrance to the Library.

| Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.8 or above / Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued |
| Before Library Opening Hours | Library will be closed. |
| During Library Opening Hours | Library will be closed within 1 hour if the pre-warning signal is announced during opening hours. |
| Library will be closed immediately if the signal is hoisted without warning during opening hours. |
| Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.8 or above / Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is lowered |
| The Library will re-open within 2 hours if the signal is lowered (at least) 4 hours before the normal closing time, and if the situation allows it. |
| The Library will remain closed if the signal is lowered 4 hours (or less) before the normal closing time. |
