World Book Day was created on 23 April 1995, by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to promote reading, publishing and copyright. It is also the anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, prominent Spanish Chronicler.

To celebrate ‘4.23 World Book Day’ and encourage reading, Library organizes an exhibition from 4 April to 10 May 2019 featuring both fiction and non-fiction, new releases and books in receipt of major awards or prizes.
