Closure of Library Effective From 30 March 2020 Usage (581)

In view of the current novel coronavirus outbreak, Kong Mou Sum Library will close from 30 March – 7 April 2020 (School Holiday on 8-15 April 2020) and reopen on 16 April 2020. Please check the latest updates of opening hours on library website before visiting the Library. Library users are encouraged to access our online resources to support the research needs, teaching goals and learning activities. 1. Library Support for Online Teaching and Learning
A. Access to e-resources off campus
The Library provides a rich collection of e-resources, including databases / eBook / e-Journals covering multi-disciplinary subjects. Staff and students can access the library’s subscribed e-resources or Discovery Search remotely.

B. How to login remote access
To access the quality resources remotely, please login with: campus email name and password (for Staff) or Student ID and campus email password (for Student) on the authentication page.

C. Document Delivery Services (DDS)
The Library collaborates with 12 local partner libraries and overseas institutions to provide the service of Document Delivery. Eligible patrons including academic staff, research staff, postgraduate & doctoral student can request full-text articles and book chapters that are not available in the Library for the educational purpose. 2. Lending Services
A. Book Drop
Library materials can be returned to Book Drop located at the Library entrance on 4/F when the Library is closed.

B. Online Renewal
Except for items that have been requested, loaned items can be renewed online through “My Library Record”. Users are recommended to renew the items online and check for the new due dates through “My Library Record”. For more details, please refer to the QUICK GUIDE.

C. Overdue Fines Arrangement
Fines for library items incurred after 31 January 2020 during the face-to-face class suspension will be waived until further notice.
