世界閱讀日於1995年4月23日由聯合國教育，科學及文化組織（教科文組織）創立，以促進閱讀，出版和版權。 這也是著名文學家威廉·莎士比亞和印卡·加西拉索·德拉維加逝世的紀念日。

為慶祝「4.23世界閱讀日」並鼓勵閱讀，圖書館於2019年4月4日至5月10日舉辦展覽，展出小說和非小說，新出版及得獎作品的書籍。
